Malus 'Cardinal' or 'Princeton Cardinal' is a superb crab apple from the US which becomes laden with intense pink flowers in mid April. The dark almost black leaves change to glossy red in the summer followed by small, deep red fruits in the autumn. This tree is great for attracting wildlife in both the spring and autumn and has a very good disease resistance.

History:

Developed by Wellington, one of the progeny of M. x arnoldiana. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
